About the Role

The Prior Conviction Case Manager (also known as the Employment Coach Specialist) is responsible for undertaking meaningful work by supporting an allocated caseload of customers with a prior offender history, with the objective of finding them employment.

 

Using an intensive case management approach, this role focuses heavily on improving the customers capacity to work by addressing non- vocational issues and building vocational skills and experience.

 

Promoting your customers through advocacy to employers will be paramount in assisting them to find suitable employment opportunities, while actively running group-based sessions to motivate and improve confidence amongst your caseload.

 

We have five of these unique positions across our Armadale, Cockburn, Cannington, Fremantle, and Mandurah sites that are being offered on a full time, ongoing basis.

What skills and experience will you need to possess to be successful in this role?

  • Demonstrate an understanding of vocational and other barriers that impact people from gaining employment
  • Demonstrate a passion and drive for helping people find employment
  • Demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to develop positive relationships with a diverse range of customers, employers and staff
  • Demonstrate the ability to assess, match and refer customers to appropriate job opportunities and to advocate directly to employers
  • Demonstrate the ability to achieve individual targets and work to clearly defined KPIs
  • Demonstrate strong administration skills and IT literacy, data entry and typing skills, Word, Excel and Outlook experience
  • Demonstrate attention to detail ability to work under pressure
  • Demonstrate previous experience in the employment services, Justice or similar field will be highly regarded
  • Have a minimum Certificate IV in Employment Services or Career Development or willingness to study; and
  • Have experience in Employment Services or a related Service industry.
